Approve Award of Contract for Roof Replacements at Three Sites (Sligh, Sites and Utilities, B.T. Washington)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for replacement of selected roof areas at Sites and Utilities; B.T. Washington Elementary and Sligh Middle Schools.  District staff combined the requirements into a single project and selected Roof Engineering Associates, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services.

The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation).  Award of the contract for construction to the lowest qualified bidder, Roof USA (FL) LLC, is recommended.

• Demonstrate best financial practices • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
Funds in the amount of $1,340,321.00 will be available in the Local Millage fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8138. As of Thursday, March 24, 2016, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $1,243,206.75.

The contract amount recommended for award is $1,151,953.
