Approve Award of Contract for Bus Parking Stabilization at Airport Road |

| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
To improve Transportation Department operations and staff working conditions, improvement and expansion of the bus compound located on Airport Road in Plant City is required. District staff selected Long & Associates Architects/Engineers, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services. The scope of work includes a paved access road, stabilized bus parking, stormwater management facilities and site lighting. Upon completion of the development, the site will provide parking capacity for 427 buses. The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation). Award of contract for construction to the lowest qualified bidder, Alto Construction Co., Inc., is recommended. |

Funds in the amount of $1,716,658.00 will be available in the Local Millage fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8129. As of Wednesday, April 20, 2016, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $1,650,793.98.
The contract amount being awarded is $1,548,883. |
