SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Spot Survey 4.5 for the Instructional Services Center (ISC) Building
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Florida Statute 1013.31 requires all school districts to submit an educational plant survey once every five years to the Florida Department of Education (FDOE). The survey establishes the condition of existing facilities, and makes recommendations for repairs, major renovations, remodeling, and capacity improvements, based on actual and anticipated needs. As exceptions to original survey recommendations arise, the Board is required to amend the educational plant survey by submitting a “spot survey” to FDOE. On June 10, 2014, the School Board approved the District’s 2015-2019 FDOE 5-Year Educational Plant Survey 4.1. A spot survey is now required to amend Survey 4.1, adding a recommendation for minor remodeling the ISC Building, which will enable spaces previously occupied by Student Nutrition Services to function as office space for Human Resources Department staff. The estimated cost for the remodeling project recommended in this Spot Survey is $600,000, funded by local millage. The construction project and associated funding information will come to the Board as a separate agenda item. |
