Transportation Field Supervisors Pam Coleman, Area 5, and Debbie Bundy, Area 8, worked for over a month preparing for an end-of-year social event for their drivers, attendants and staff.  On Saturday, April 30, they held the first annual kickball championship game between the two areas at East Bay High School. 

Although the initial event was planned to be a three game series, both sides quickly realized that one game would be enough, because lunch was ready and they would need oxygen flown in for several of the veteran players to play any additional games! In a game that went back and forth with the score, complaining and insults, Area 5 won the game 11 to 9 after seven tough-fought innings. 

Hats off to both Pam and Debbie who arranged a host of volunteers to help with the day's event.  Lunch was provided with plenty of beverages, face painting for the children, hoola-hoop contests, sack races, water kickball, a cotton candy machine, a snow cone machine, and a DJ who was the MC for the game and provided dance music.  There was a great turn out for this event and special thanks to Ms. Sally Harris and Ms. April Griffin for showing up to show their support.  The trophy will stay in possession of the winner until next years rematch.
