Accept IBM Software Letter Option (ISLO) and Approve Acquisition and Exchange of IBM Software Licenses Through IBM Passport Advantage Agreement (Information and Technology Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
In August 2014 Deloitte & Touche, on behalf of IBM, initiated a comprehensive software license audit of IBM software in use by Hillsborough County Public Schools. Approval of this agenda item serves to formally close the software license audit and enable the district to expand the use of the IBM software used to securely distribute district reports and images online to all employees and provides future access by students and parents. The district utilizes over 100 IBM software programs, acquired over the past 3 decades. The complexity of software licensing has increased due to variations in software bundling offerings, product rebranding, company acquisitions and mergers, and changes to pricing models. This ISLO addresses removal of decommissioned and demo software versions, and revises two software programs that need licensing adjustments: IBM Cognos Business Intelligence PowerPlay Studio and IBM Content Manager.
