TO: | School Board Members |
FROM: | Jeff Eakins, Superintendent |
SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Tampa and the School Board of Hillsborough County to Permit the Installation of Chilled Water Lines in the City Owned Right-of-Way at Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School |
|
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The School District is constructing a classroom addition at Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School. There is an existing historic building (labeled 08 on page 12) located between the new building (labeled 03) and the chilled water plant (labeled New Equipment Yard). There is only 2 feet clearance between the existing historic building and the City owned right-of-way. In order to avoid running the chilled water line serving the new building across the outside face of the historic building, the District proposes to place the line in the City right-of-way. The City of Tampa staff has agreed to this use of the right-of-way by the School District. The attached Interlocal Agreement is scheduled to be considered by Tampa City Council on June 23, 2016. There is no cost to the District for use of the right-of-way for this purpose. |
|
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES | |
• Align financial resources to support the district's strategic goals • Demonstrate best financial practices
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)
The placement of the chilled water line in the right-of-way will have no financial impact to the School District. |
