Approve First Modification to License and Indemnity Agreement Between the Florida Strawberry Festival, Inc. and the School Board of Hillsborough County |
|
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On December 15, 2015, the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, a body corporate, entered into a License and Indemnity Agreement with the Florida Strawberry Festival, Inc. to use property owned by the Festival for physical education programs and overflow parking for Tomlin Middle and Bryan Elementary Schools. District staff requested assistance from the Festival to use these same areas from June to August, when the schools would not be in session, to park school transportation buses. This additional space is necessary while the construction and paving project at the district's permanent transportation site at Airport Road is taking place. The School Board will contribute a nominal fee of $2,000 to cover the electric charges for extra hours of lighting the property and for the cost of extra security patrols hired by the Festival to ensure the safety of the district buses. |
